about

After the cancellation of dozens of live dates in 2020, The Brass Funkeys are not taking lockdown lying down. Instead, the 8-piece brass band are embarking on an ambitious project to release four EPs of new material over the course of the year. Their latest release “Ruin” explores that classic showcase of modern brass bands: pumping, heavy, brass-led covers. Whatever genre the original track, from girlband to heavy metal, “Ruin” finds The Brass Funkeys reclaiming these songs as their own with their unique sound and infectious energy.

The four tracks on “Ruin” are irreverent takes on Destiny’s Child, Bloc Party, Oasis and System of a Down, as well as a brass-heavy remix of Ariana Grande’s “Bloodline” by Count Bassy, a long-time collaborator from their regular festival performances across the country.
